The displays are followed in price by the inbuilt processors. The primary and secondary chips – M2 and R1 cost Apple no more than $240 each. With all the remaining components Vision Pro “dials” very respectable $1542, which is three times the price of PSVR2 and Quest 3. Thus, the market price of the headset is 133% higher than its cost of production.
However, given Apple’s huge investment in the production of such premium devices, Omdia suggested that the next generations of Vision Pro will be better quality, better performing, and cheaper.
