Robopes of South Korea set a world record in the 100 metre race

HOUND has been specially designed to move at a speed of 10.7 kilometres per hour, including cross-country and long-distance running.

The incredible mobility of the robot is ensured by the drive modules of the hip and knee joints, which act as a single unit. The developers favoured a planetary gearbox because of its high efficiency in power transmission.
