French startup Skwheel has introduced Skwheel One motorised skis aimed at speed and thrill lovers. They can easily turn city streets into mountain slopes for skiing. Each of the two skis features a carbon fibre deck, one wheel at the front and one at the back and a 600W hub motor.
Skwheel One is equipped with pneumatic off-road tyres, allowing it to be used on paved and unpaved roads. The front wheels can swivel to simulate the feel of downhill skiing. Acceleration and braking can be controlled with the included remote control. The skis are set to travel at a maximum speed of 25 km/h, but in private areas this restriction can be removed. The maximum speed is a solid 80 km/h.
